From railway station to casino floor
SkyCity Adelaide opened in 1985 inside the former Adelaide railway station building on the city's riverbank, one of two casinos on this list built inside a repurposed heritage structure rather than a resort tower. A major redevelopment completed around 2020 significantly expanded the gaming floor, dining and hotel offering.
A convenient Adelaide stop
The riverbank location puts it within easy walking distance of the Adelaide Festival Centre and the CBD, so it works well as a one- or two-night city stop if your lap routes you through South Australia between the Nullarbor and the eastern states.
Operator note
SkyCity Adelaide is run by SkyCity Entertainment Group, a New Zealand-listed operator that also runs casino resorts in Auckland, Hamilton and Queenstown.
